Okimono - Elephant ivory - Ebisu with Daikokuten - Signed Munehide 宗 秀 - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) Okimono in elephant ivory depicting the meeting of the two wise men of good fortune often portrayed together with Ebisu with the fan God of food and harvest and Daikoku with his hammer God of abundance and wealth. Sculpture made from a single base block with signature engraved on a red lacquer piece. Old label and numbers from a past collection.
