Okimono - Elephant ivory - Fisherman with a basket of clams - Signed Ichimei (or Kazuaki) 一明 - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) . Very important note for bidders outside the EU. This item CANNOT be sold outside the EU. Small and fine okimono depicting a fisherman with basket of shells - a crab seems to pinch his hand. Signed on the underside. It is in excellent general condition with its original page with natural veining and wear consistent with its age. Japanese object from the Meiji period. The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer.
