Exceptional ivory okimono depicting an old man playing with two children. One child in his arms takes a persimmon from the hand of another child who hides a fruit basket behind his back. Possibly from the Tokyo School. Signed Kyoji under the base. Extraordinary quality and good general condition, it has natural ivory veining, the hands of the two children appear to be glued as shown in red in the photos. Japanese artefact from the Meiji period (circa 1890–1910) . The item was produced prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations on ivory trade. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity that will be sent to the buyer. Very important note for customers outside the EU: This item cannot be sold outside the EU.
