Okimono - Elephant ivory - Monumentale ed importante - Pescatore con bambino - Firmato 'Kokumin' - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) Majestic and large okimono in finely carved monobloc ivory while he lights his pipe and holds a net from which he doesn't notice that a fish is escaping as seen by the child who tries to grab it. Details of great finesse and quality, especially the clothes, the finely perforated net, the tobacco holder with the mask of an oni, the waves of the sea under the rocks. Komin engraved signature under the base, probably Tokyo school. In very good condition. The lot will be carefully packed and shipped within 1 or at most 2 business days from the day of payment.
