Okimono - elephant ivory - old farmer holding a basket of grapes - signed - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) . This item CANNOT be sold outside the EU. Very fine okimono depicting an old farmer holding a basket full of bunches of grapes. Very high quality item. In good condition overall with minimal wear and veining consistent with its age, restoration on the feet as marked in red in the photos. Signed on the underside. Japanese object from the Meiji period. The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer. Very important note for bidders outside the EU.
