A late 19th Century Japanese elephant ivory okimono of a pedlar carrying a small chest, gourds and a noh mask; banging a gong to alert his customers. Very finely carved with a lot of details. Beautiful patina. Signed in green lacquer under the oval base. Japan, ca. 1890. Superb condition. See photo´s. Height: 97 mm. Weight: 109 grams. Certified after physical inspection by Dhr. Keddeman. Japanese artefact from the Meiji period: ca. 1890. This item was produced prior to 1947 and is therefore in compliance with the European Union regulations on ivory trade. This item cannot be sold to buyers outside the EU. Will be packed with great care and shipped with ´track and trace´. Insured.
