Rare okimono in monobloc elephant ivory depicting a Yamabuchi, hermit monk of the mountains in the company of his Karasutengu and the scroll held in his right hand, just delivered by the Tengu. Legend has it that this kind of Tengu were their messengers and their servants. Rare and particular sculpture obtained from the same block rich in details and details of excellent workmanship.
