Okimono - Elephant ivory - superb single piece carving of a takarabune - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)

The okimono (354 gr) depicting a takarabune (treasure boat or lucky dragon boat) with all seven lucky gods: Ebisu 恵比須; Daikokuten 大黒天; Bishamonten 毘沙門天; Benzaiten 弁財天Fukurokuju 福禄寿; Hotei 布袋 and Jurōjin 寿老人Every god minutely detailed with his or hers attributes. A large bird on top and the boat with a fierce dragon design. Signed and dating around 1870. Really top of the range carving. Good condition with only two age cracks. A report from an expert is added to confirm the age and the fact is can be sold in the EU under Ci. TES rules. Bidders outside the EU should check own law on import of antique ivory. Shipping with T & T and insured.
