Splendid Japanese ivory sculpture, depicting the "mouse hunt" scene, signed red lacquer, made in Japan during the Meiji period. The mouse is tooled with great skill, in fact by tilting the object the mouse moves, a unique technique used only by the great Japanese sculptors. Signed with red lacquer.
