Okimono, signed Mitsu-Yuki - Elephant ivory - Fisherman and boy on a base - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)

Description Very nice okimono depicting a fisherman holding a net in his two hands while a young boy, standing by his left leg, is showing him a sea bream (Taï) that he just entangled from the net ; two other taï can be seen exiting form the pleats of the net. The piece is very nicely crafted : see the details of the net, the happy smiling face of the fisherman, the scales of the taï, the movement of the elements of the apron worn by the man. Taï are omens of good fortune in the japanese tradition. Signed Hide in the japanese tradition-Chika on the underside of the base. Datation End of Edo / Early Meiji period - C. 1870 Condition Overall good condition, some age wear cracks in the Ivory, one object missing on the back left hip of the fisherman Please check pictures for global condition Provenance French private collection School - Weigth 161 gr Signature Mitsu-Yuki Bibliography - Delivery For luxembourg the delivery will be made by the seller.
