Old Wooden Chairs, 4, c. 1720s [160730]
4 light wood, perhaps pine, chairs. As per old note on bottom of a chair, "This chair, and three others of like construction are part of the wedding outfit of Anne Dudley, great grandmother of Martha Belange, married at Bordentown, 1723. Given to Dr. Hyatt at Bordentown." Uprights and legs have carved bands in the style of bamboo. 2 seats have cracks. One has 8 drilled holes underneath seat, another has 10 drilled holes underneath. 34x16.5x15.5". These chairs are fragile and should be evaluated before using as seating. From the Hyatt Estate.
