Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation .45 Caliber Ball M1911 Cartridges

A full box of 50 cartridges of caliber .45 ball M1911 ammunition. The rectangular box is constructed from plain brown kraft cardboard and contains internal cardboard dividers. The ammunition consists of copper-jacketed round-nose projectiles. The top of the box features a printed black rectangular border enclosing several lines of text in a sans-serif typeface. The text includes "50 CARTRIDGES", "CALIBER .45", "BALL M1911", and "LOT WCC". Centered at the bottom within the border is the manufacturer name "OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORPORATION". The "WCC" lot prefix corresponds to the Western Cartridge Company, a division of Olin Mathieson. A rectangular area of surface loss and adhesive residue is visible below the "BALL M1911" text where a label was previously attached. The box measures approximately 5 and 1/4 inches in length.
