Olle Svanlund 1909–1996 Trelleborg vintage poster

[ translate ]

Caption Brief: "Tires are the focus in this rare Olle Svanlund design for Trelleborg, the Swedish rubber company based in the town of the same name. With the realistically rendered motorcycle and car tires placed front and center, the vehicles and rider become secondary elements, near phantoms relegated to the soft pastel background. But what truly creates the impression in this poster is the slant of the images—the acute angles that powerfully evoke motion, a secure grip, and speed" (The Art Deco Poster, Crouse, p. 95).

1933

39½ h × 27½ w in (100 × 70 cm)

J. Olséns, Stockholm
