Olmec Stone Mask of a Jaguar 900-600BC Veracruz
Includes Letter from Mesoamerican authority Dr. Hasso Von Winning. Finely Carved and polished effigy with original patina 900 - 600 BC Veracruz Mexico. van Hasso's description: "16 cm (6 inches and 1/4) Black columnar basalt, Olmec, from Veracruz, Mexico 900-600 BC. A very unusual mask of trapezoidal form. The artifact presents a set of large bulbous eyes, core drilled, a flat nose with drilled nostrils, long ears perforated at the lobes, open mouth with exposed tongue an a set of stocky upper fangs. Its back and inner mouth are unfinished, contrasting the well polished remaining surfaces. Mineral deposits are presents. I have inspected this stone mask and it is an authentic Olmec artifact.
