This important map, first issued in 1635, was one of the most attractive of the Americas at the time. It is noted for the fact that its primary source is the first manuscript figurative map of Adriaen Block (1614). It is one of the first to name Nieu Amsterdam, Nieu Pleimonth, and t'Lange Eyland. It is also the first printed map to show otters, polecats and Beavers. (Burden) Plate 58 in Schwartz / Ehrenberg "The Mapping of America".
