Onyx and diamond bangle, late 19th century
Of floral and folliate design, centering an oval cabochon onyx, set throughout with rose diamonds in closed-back settings, accented by old cushion-shaped diamonds, inner circumference approximately 170mm, numbered, partial French maker's and import marks for silver and gold.
Condition Report:
Numbered 98.96K. and 2TU2. Partial French maker's marks. French import marks for 800 silver and 18 carat gold between 1893 and 1984. Black onyx chipped to the crown. Principal circular-cut diamonds in the floral elements estimated to weigh a total of approximately 2.00 - 2.50 carats as gauged in the mount, weight estimation of the rose diamonds prohibited due to the cutting style and closed-back setting, on average L-M, some M+ colour, I clarity, as graded in the mount. Tarnish and scratches to the metal consistent with age and wear, evidence of soldering, one floral element slightly loose. In good condition overall. Width approximately 40mm. Gross weight approximately 127 grams.
