Oreodont Fossil Skull Merycoidodon culbertsoni Late Oligocene Brule Formation White River Badlands, South Dakota, USA This rather sizable skull for the prolific White River Badlands dating to the Oligocene represents a finer Oreodont of the Merycoidodon variety, which is quite complete and exceptional on both sides without any visible compression. The fossil exhibits nice bone preservation with more color than most, and this skull is quite impressive in terms of size, form, and condition approaching 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) in length.
