Orfeó Català. 1904.
Gual's resplendent design harkens the opening of the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona; the ornate Art Nouveau landmark was commissioned by the choral society Orfeó Català in 1904. The top of the choir's banner fills the bottom portion of the design, with its coat of arms piercing upwards towards the Montserrat mountains. The murmuration of golden birds represents the group's singing, and on a purely visual level, they add a lovely burst of color that contrasts with the purple mountainous landscape. Along with designing this first poster for the concert hall, Gual's theatrical company, Companyia Adrià Gual, performed at the Palau.
