Oil 35.5 x 45.5 x 1.6 Departures. Oil on stretched canvas. From my series based on railway travel in the North of England. This one is more abstract than some in this series, referencing some reflections and the intervention of time and memory. On wooden stretcher frame and fixings so that it can be hung without an additional frame. Since studying at St Martins School of Art, London, in the 1980's I have been painting and making prints for decades. Now living in the North of England, my inspiration is the everyday outdoor spaces where I often walk, interested in the atmosphere of a location and the effects of light and weather.
