This photo album features over 100 original vintage and antique photographs from the Dailey Bros Circus and the Cole Bros Circus. There are numerous candid shots of circus performers, showgirls, clowns, workers, animals, elephants, trains, trucks, and more. At least one pair of photographs is stamped "George Brinton Beal Circus Photograh." Beal (1862-1969) was a writer and critic who published "Through the Back Door of the Circus" in the 1930s. Many of his photographs are now held in the collection Harvard University's Houghton Library. The backs of several other photographs feature some handwritten notes.
