Original Japanese Samurai armor from mid. Edo period from the Todo family, Daimyo of the Tsu clan - iron / cloth / leather - Todo family, - Japan - Edo period

A beautiful original Japanese Samurai armor from mid. Edu period. It was handed down to the Todo family, Daimyo of the Tsu clan in Ise Province. Many armors were repaired at the end of Edo or Meiji period. Iwai Uemon Shigetane repaired Ganji gannen(1864) . Tsu was known as “Anotsu” during the Sengoku periods and was controlled by the Kudo clan, who were originally from Shinano Province. The domain was then given to Tōdō Takatora, with a kokudaka of 220,000 koku. Though a tozama daimyō, Tōdō Takatora received special treatment from Tokugawa Ieyasu early on and was tasked with building Edo Castle. This beautiful Samurai armor has the honor to hold the important Kosyu Tokubetsu kicho shiryo papers.
