Kilim Fars rugs are woven by the nomadic tribes of Fars Province in southwestern Iran. These flat-woven rugs are prized for their versatility, wide variety of motifs, geometric patterns and harmonious color schemes. A special weaving technique is used in weaving these kilims, giving them a thinner, almost blanket-like appearance.

Nomads originally used kilims as blankets, saddlebags, pillows and other decorative ornaments in their daily lives. Today, kilims are fashionable and sought-after items that serve as unique wall hangings, furniture upholstery, picnic blankets and bed covers and much more. There are practically no limits to the imagination when it comes to decorating with kilim rugs.
