Original Sand Bird Sand Painting

Original heavy sandpainting of two birds. Sandpainting is the art of pouring colored sands, and powdered pigments from minerals or crystals, or pigments from other natural or synthetic sources onto a surface to make a fixed, or unfixed sand painting. Unfixed sand paintings have a long established cultural history in numerous social groupings around the globe, and are often temporary, ritual paintings prepared for religious or healing ceremonies. It is also referred to as drypainting. Original picture is approx 37" x 2" x 25 1/2" Image is approx 35" x 23. Frame is in good, used condition with a few markings and scuffs. There's also a minor scratch on the plex. Colors and details are very striking.
