One of the most prominent print designers of the shin-hanga movement, Kawase Hasui is possibly the most renowned Japanese landscape artist of the 20th century. Kawase Hasui, a modern printmaker gave primacy to the mood of a place. Especially their persistent interest in depicting light characterizes the dreamlike atmosphere in their prints. Artists such as Kawase Hasui expressed a romantic yearning for nature, rural roots and the warm wooden architecture that was disappearing in urban Tokyo See the “light-lines” in the blue air and beautiful reflection in the water. Most of his woodblock were destroyed in a fire, the year before he died. The artist was declared a living National Treasure. The woodblock print is in excellent condition and has never been framed before. Will be shipped worldwide with tracking post, between hardboard plates to prevent bending or any damage in transport.
