Osamu Tezuka Kimba the White Lion Stationery Illustration Original Art Group of 3 (Mushi Production/Sunstar, 1965). Osamu Tezuka earned the title "God of Manga" through a career that reshaped Japanese comics, animation, and popular culture. His lifelong interest in insects reached into his professional identity, from the pen name "Osamushi" to the name Mushi Production and the distinctive bug-inspired face mark associated with his work. This rare original piece carries that familiar emblem and was produced as an illustration backing card for Sunstar Stationery merchandise based on Mushi Production's 1965-1966 Jungle Emperor anime, later known to Western audiences as Kimba the White Lion. The series holds a place in animation history as Japan's first full-color animated television program. With its period production function, licensed character imagery, and direct connection to Tezuka's studio era, the artwork offers a compelling intersection of manga history, anime merchandising, commercial design, and mid-century Japanese visual culture. Rendered in ink and watercolor over graphite on board with approximate image areas of 2.75" x 4.25" and 3" x 3.75". In Excellent condition.
