Osamu Tezuka, Takashi Yanase, Fujio Akatsuka, and others - Manga Kingdom 50th Anniversary Shikishi Original Art Group of 9 (1982). Nine major voices in Japanese comics came together at Hakuba's Manga Kingdom, and this signed shikishi set preserves that rare convergence on paper. Created in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Manga Shūdan, the group includes Osamu Tezuka, Takashi Yanase, Fujio Akatsuka, Tetsuya Chiba, Kimihiko Tsukuda, Hisanori Iwamoto, Yukio Sugiura, Hiroshi Tada, and Ryohei Yanagihara. Each artist contributes an individual drawing and signature. The result gathers manga, gag cartooning, children's illustration, and newspaper art within one documented 1982 cultural event. The nine illustrations are rendered in varying combinations of ink, ink wash, and marker on 9.5" x 10.75" shikishi boards, housed together in a binder. Signed. In Excellent condition.
