Oscar Cesare New York Post Editorial Comics Panels Original Art Group of 3 (Post Publ., 1910s). New York's corrupt political structure inspired these three selections from master editorialist Cesare. One somber piece marks the death in 1913 of Judge-turned-Mayor William Jay Gaynor, a reformer who had broken ranks with the oppressive Tammany Hall power cadre. The others concern disgraced New York Governor William Sulzer and his circle of associates and rivals.
