Otto B. de KAT, painter, watercolourist, draftsman
Otto de Kat was a painter who was influenced by the Haarlem School and the Fauvism of Matisse. He trained at the School for Artistic Crafts in Haarlem, the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam (now Rietveld Academy) and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Brussels.
De Kat mainly made figures in interiors, still lifes and portraits in his characteristic style. He was also a professor at the National Academy and founder of the Dutch Watercolourists' Circle.
