Otto Frank
Father (1889–1980) of Jewish World War II diarist Anne Frank, and the only member of his family to survive the concentration camps. TLS signed “Otto Frank,” one page, 5.25 x 7, July 15, 1958. Letter to Livros de Brazil Lt., concerning the Portuguese publication of The Diary of Anne Frank. In part: "I kindly acknowledge receipt of the different cheques you sent amounting to $279.80 for which I thank you. I trust that the sale of the book will continue, as the play, based on it, will be on the stage, as far as I am informed, and early next year the film will be out." A typed translation is attached. Also includes carbon copies of associated documents sent to Otto Frank, noting a new printing of 2,000 copies of The Diary of Anne Frank. In fine condition.
