Father (1889–1980) of Jewish World War II diarist Anne Frank, and the only member of his family to survive the concentration camps. Two items: a glossy 3 x 4 proof photo of Frank as he appeared in 1937, signed and inscribed on the reverse in blue ballpoint in French, and dated April 29, 1977; and a TLS in French, one page, 5.75 x 8.25, personal letterhead, April 28, 1977, in part (translated): "As I understand your intention to make a photographic memorial of the Second World War, I am sending you here an old photo of me for your collection." In fine condition.
