Facsimile volume in full parchment, 48 pages. 46 large-format miniatures, the text is written with silver ink in uncial script on purple coloured calf parchment. Origin: in the 6th century, possibly around 540, in the Syrian Antiochian or Syrian Palestinian area. The illustrations are in a naturalistic style typical of Roman painting of the time. The "Wiener Genesis" (Vienna Genesis) is one of the oldest well-preserved illustrated biblical codices and is considered a major work of Byzantine book illumination. Commentary volume: 207 p. in full linen, together in a high-quality linen box. This volume bears the number 9 of 150 special editions in vellum, total circulation 900.
