Oued Awlitis 002 Meteorite Carbonaceous Chondrite, CV3 Western Sahara - (25.966°N, 12.539°W) Found: 2014 This slice of carbonaceous chondrite exhibits a spotted pattern to its greenish-gray and brown palette. The piece of Oued Awlitis 002 meteorite weighs a scant 8 grams but is nonetheless considerable, with respect to size, thickness and visual appeal. This is a lovely slice of an unusual CV3 featuring numerous chondrules among other inclusions amid its varied patina. This small slab exhibits a pleasing shape and immense character. The aesthetic specimen has a primary face and an unfinished reverse side that has one large, grayish-white, roundish clast within the dull green and brown speckles of the rough exterior. The composition of this complete slice meteorite is anomalous being of Chlorapatite and Plutonic rock. This complete slab was sliced from the specimen residing in the American Museum of Natural History. Overall Measurements: 1.70 x 1.41 x 0.09 inches (4.33 x 3.59 x 0.24 cm), weighs 8 grams [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
