Description: Large complete mid 18thc French Old Master Folio; 39 Sanquine stipple engravings; Nicolas Poussin 1594-1665, Raphael, + .Engraved by Duclos, Carree, Chaponnier, Brinclaire, Jacquinot ++. First image is a portrait of Nicolas Poussin [presumed to be a self portrait with no artist nor graver identification] Each Stipple is photographed in order and each signed except front Poussin portrait. Paper is thick and obviously hand made with uncut uneven edges. Complete; with no title nor publisher. Red chalk stipples are strong and vivid. Center stipple folds out to one sheet measuring 22 x 28 alone. Inside cover board has previous owners bookplate [Alethea Serpell, past President, Council of Assembly Tidewater Virginia Women] The first blank page has British dealers label, and back inside board has coat of arms bookplate.
Measurements: 14 1/4 x 22 .
Condition: Complete original form. Deep impressions; note one photo showing back side of page. Minor foxing throughout. Few with edge tears. Stitch binding loose.
