Ipsens Enke (1815-1860), Stylised bird heads bowl, 1903, Earthenware, Underside with impressed and inscribed marks and date, 36cm across Footnote Peter Ipsen established his pottery in 1843 in Copenhagen. After his death, the business was continued by his son Bertel and widow Louise, and the company was represented at The Great Exhibition in London 1870. Circa 1900, began a production of glazed stoneware with more modern designs in collaboration with artists and designers such as Thorvald Bindesboll, Christian Joachim Jensen, Georg Jensen and Axel Salto.
Interior heavily marked, chips and repairs to all 3 beaks, surface marks.
