P. J. Crook MBE, British b.1945 – The Gazebo, 1986; oil on board, 12.8 x 12.8 cm (ARR) Provenance: The Geoffrey and Fay Elliot collection. With Portal Gallery, London; private collection; thence by descent Note: Pamela June Crook is known for her hyper-realist style, that blends illusionism and mystery. Always painting over the edges of the frame, the artist creates complete visions that are at once modern and historical. The artist has exhibited internationally, including at the Morohashi Museum of Modern Art in Japan and the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol. Her work is in collections including El Mundo, Madrid, Ha'aretz, Tel Aviv and the Imperial War Museum, London.
Painted surface in very good condition, with only minor wear on outer edges, one minor fleck of missing paint top right and one scuff on right edge. Frame is pulling apart very slightly at the corners. Overall very good condition.
