1942 OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING The art measures 16-1/2 x 12 Inches in very condition.A magnificent cubist portrait of a woman in complimetary blue and warm colors.Signed "Picasso" on the upper left, dedication reads: "Pour Allice Allard , Picasso le 7.9.42" An impresive display of artist unique ability to see and show rality in a fresh, surreal and truly revolutinairy way only akin to Pablo Picasso. The painting shows some minor aging but overall condition is very good.
Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) Spanish expatriate painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer, one of the greatest and most-influential artists of the 20th century and the creator (with Georges Braque) of Cubism.
The enormous body of Picasso’s work remains, and the legend lives onas a tribute to the vitality of the “disquieting” Spaniard with the “sombre…piercing” eyes who superstitiously believed that work would keep him alive.
