Condition Report:
The ceramic is sound, however the work was originally a single sheet which at some point broke into to two sections. There are some cracks to the surface throughout, from the drying or firing processes, however these all appear to be stable. There are two holes at the top of the upper section, running through the ceramic, in keeping with the artist's working methods. There is some historic flaking to the surface at the centre of the upper edge of the lower section. There are some historic nicks and small losses to the extreme edges, with some further small chips and losses elsewhere. There is surface dirt throughout, most notably in the recessed areas of the work. This excepting the work appears to be in good overall condition.
Provenance:
Estate of the artist
Marina Picasso (the artist’s granddaughter; acquired from the above)
