PAIR OF BRONZE TURTLE, CRANE & SNAKE CANDELABRA
Pair of bronze turtle, crane, and snake four light candelabra, each having a standard composed of a crane standing on the back of a turtle while holding a snake, the snake issuing three scrolling arms, with a central candle cup topped by a crane finial, apparently unmarked.
Note: These three animals together are a popular Chinese and Japanese motif; turtles and cranes denote long life and snakes represents good luck.
Approximate dimensions: h. 22", dia. 9.25".
Condition Report: May have been gilded at one time, vestiges of gilt are present, one candelabrum is slightly bent, the top on the other is not screwed into the base all the way. Heavy patina.
