Pair of large hand-carved and hand-painted wooden figural sculptures, depicting a male and female standing figure in traditional dress. Each features strongly carved facial details, articulated jointed arms, individually carved hands and feet, and painted clothing with warm earth tones, green accents, and spotted lower garments. The male figure is distinguished by a carved mustache, beard, and head covering, while the female figure has pulled-back hair and a fitted painted bodice. Both retain a wonderfully aged, rustic surface with visible wear, paint loss, cracking, abrasions, and patina consistent with age and use.
