The first: a photo, Awakened Taiga, by Semyon Osipovich Fridlyand (1905-1964), a Soviet photographer and journalist; inscribed in pencil on the back. The second: two vintage 30s north artic photos, Expedition of the Papanins to the North Pole, by Yakov Khalip (1908-1980), an outstanding master of Soviet photography, famous photographer, photo artist, direct heir of the Russian avant-garde in photography, student of Alexander Rodchenko.
