PAIR OF SMALL MAHOGANY TABLES.

Date: Ca. 1888 & 1889.
Technique: Mahogany. Fire-gilded bronze.
Description: Narrow shape with high and slender, slightly curved feet. The intermediate shelf with a
high gallery edge in the form of a lattice. Each with a small drawer and fine music inlaid
on the top of the shelf. The bases of the feet accentuated with elaborate mounts in the
form of rocaille cartouches.
Measurement: 70x35x27cm.
Mark: Each labelled "Henry Dasson et Cie." on the mounting of the table edge. Once with 1889 and 1888 respectively. Henry Dasson stamped on the underside of the frame with the year.

Henry Dasson (1825-1896) acquired the workshop of the late Charles Winckelsen from his widow in July 1871. In the following years he created, among other things, copies of furniture from the royal collection from the 18th century. He took part in several world exhibitions and was awarded a gold medal several times.

"[...] Henri Dasson, has quickly established a very high position through the perfection of his works, to which we warmly applaud." (Ledoux-Lebard (1989) p.148).
