PAIR OF SMALL, PAINTED CORNER CONSOLES

Louis XVI, signed V.N BRETON (Valentin Noel Breton, maître 1787), Paris ca. 1785/90.

Wood, fluted and exquisitely carved with beading, Corinthian capital, stylized leaves, and decorative frieze, and painted gray and parcel-gilt. Triangular, rounded and shaped "Griotte Rouge" marble top. Paintwork, restored.
