Pair of unframed Chinese ancestor portraits, painted in gouache in on light weight canvas, framed with blue linen canvas, the first depicting a seated man wearing an official's summer hat and a blue robe with a white crane rank badge, having text and a seal above, the wife depicted on a second canvas, wearing a pearl crown and a red dragon robe, neither feet nor hands are visible as was proper.
Provenance: From the Collection of Bruce Cusmano, Metropolitan Artifacts, Atlanta, Georgia.
Approximate dimensions: Male h. 86. 5", w. 57. 25"; Female h. 87", w. 58".
Condition Report: Male and Female- Wrinkles, toning, and spots of bleaching or color change to fabric, Male- 1" slit and areas of raveling.
