PARR FAMILY ATTRIBUTED, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "4" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form, beaded neck ring, arched grooved handles, and squared rim with Albany-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt upright tulip decoration on both sides, additional cobalt at handle terminals. Attributed to David Parr Jr. (1819-1882), possibly working as Keesee & Parr (active 1858-1865), Richmond, VA or John L. Parr operating the Richmond Pottery Co. (after 1866-1890). Circa 1875.
Condition: Very good overall condition except having two flakes to rim with radial hairlines to shoulder and base.
Size: 15 1/8" H, 9" D rim.
