PARR FAMILY ATTRIBUTED, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "4" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with squared rim, beaded neck ring, and arched handles. Brushed cobalt horizontal floral decoration to both sides, with additional cobalt at handle terminals. Attributed to David Parr Jr. (1819-1882), possibly working as Keesee & Parr (active 1858-1865), Richmond, VA or John L. Parr operating the Richmond Pottery Co. (after 1866-1890). Circa 1875.

Condition: Undamaged, except for small chip to one handle corner. Firing imperfections including kiln drips and kisses, as made.

Size: 15 3/8" H, 8 7/8" D rim.
