Letter Signed, "Pétion," as President, to merchants Windsor & Smith, in French, requesting that they pay and promising that they would be reimbursed. 1 page, folio, "Republique d'Hayti" stationery, with detached address leaf; marked brittling overall, chipping at all edges, closed separation at horizontal fold affecting signature (without loss), some ink burn with minor loss to signature, small holes at right edge and center with minor loss to text repaired recto with cello tape, faint scattered staining.
