PAUL FALCONER POOLE R.A (BRITISH, 1807-1879) Take me up signed 'P. F Poole' (lower left) oil on canvas 61 x 51 cm Property of a Private London Collection. Poole studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, where he honed his skills as a painter. He gained recognition for his historical and literary subjects, often depicting scenes from mythology, literature, and British history. Poole's style was influenced by the Romantic movement, characterised by its emphasis on emotion, imagination, and dramatic storytelling as seen in the present work. He often employed rich colours, dynamic compositions, and expressive brushwork to create compelling images Paul Falconer Poole RA was a self-taught British painter specialising in subject and genre works. The artist was born in Bristol and was the son of a coal merchant. At the young age of 25 Poole had the first of his works exhibited at the Royal Academy.
