No Serial Number - Antique. Under hammer, percussion, breech loading bolt action rifle in .53 caliber. First bolt action rifle adopted by the US Military. 900 of 1200 rifles manufactured were delivered to US Military from A.H. Waters' Armory, in Milbury, Mass. The 300 remaining were sold without military markings (as this example), by a Boston, Mass. supplier. Greene's Patent Nov. 17, 1857 marked to upper tang. 36 inch barrel. Brown patina, stock is in good shape. Bore is good and clear. Fixed front and ladder rear sight. Excellent
