Excellent example of a Persian rug measuring 3.02 m² (213 x 142 cm), entirely hand-woven in pure wool on a cotton foundation with a high approximate density of 250,000 knots per square meter. The piece exhibits an erudite curvilinear execution with a strong stylistic influence from the prestigious centers of Kashan or Isfahan. The central field features an imposing lobed medallion in dark tones and ivory, surrounded by a meticulous profusion of floral arabesques and Shah Abbasi motifs on a cream background. The wide and contrasting main border frames the rug with highly symmetrical botanical palmettes. The reverse reveals an extremely compact, firm, and regular knot structure, demonstrating high-quality craftsmanship. The piece is in excellent condition, with intact fringes, leather side protection strips for perfect floor stabilization, and an old inventory tag (NR: 209304/1074) on the reverse.
