PETER TURNERELLI (CIRCA 1772-1839)
BRITISH, DATED 1828
Bust of Daniel O’Connell (1775-1847)

painted plaster
signed and dated: P. Turnerelli Fecit / Published by [...] / [...] in 1828
together with a British painted plaster bust of the Venus of Capua, after the antique, 19th century
Gentleman: 74cm., 29⅛in.
Venus: 73cm., 28¾in.

Condition Report:
Overall the condition of the busts is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is wear to the paint, including some flaking, in particular to the Venus bust to the reverse and the top of the head. It is possible that the paint layer to the surface obscures some condition points. There are minor chips to the plaster of both busts, in particular around the truncation and the edges of the socles. There are a few further chips to the male bust’s nose and forehead. There are some specks of white paint to the male bust's shoulders.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
